Bookings have increased by 5% in terms of volume and by 14% in terms of sales, compared with the same period in the previous year. The weeks during which the Alpine World Ski Championships were held in Åre (week 3-5) have been excluded from this comparison, as essentially all commercial accommodation was taken for the championships.
Except for Sälen, all of SkiStar's destinations currently have higher booking volumes than during the same period of the previous year. Sälen indicates a marginal decrease of -2%, Åre an increase of 9%, Vemdalen an increase of 8%, Trysil an increase of 11% and Hemsedal an increase of 24%.
All destinations have been open for skiing since the middle of November. The combination of more efficient snow-making systems, cold weather and heavy natural snowfall means that SkiStar is able to offer its guests a top quality skiing product. According to plan, the ski systems at all of SkiStar's destinations will be in full service by Christmas.
- The skiing season has certainly started in the best possible manner and the strong demand for alpine skiing is very pleasing for us, says CEO Mats Årjes in a comment.
